ingoaw@aol.deHello! I am very interested in owning wolves just like you. I don't know the specifics and I am saving up the money, but do you have a general idea where owning wolves is ideal? I would not want to raise it anywhere where they would be too confined and I would need to familiarize myself with the behavior of wolves, of course. Thank you! ! . . 2008 . , . .

: animalwood@gmail.comDear Zoltan
I wanted to enquire about filming with Wolves for the forthcoming series of Merlin.
Our opening sequence features wolves and we would be looking to get the following shots on snow:
1. Top shot of wolf guarding unconscious person
2. Top shot of wolf looking submissive
3. Running shots - left to right
4. leap up towards camera
5. howl up to camera
6. running right to left - this will then be a composite shot of wolves pulling our actress on a sleid.
7. Growls/snarls etc.
It would be great if you could let me know if this would be possible, how long do you think we would need to achieve these shots, could you recommend a local camera operator, very importantly when we would need to shoot to guarantee that we can get the shots in snow and of course an idea of costs.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
Saraxav990Hi the team ! Sorry for the long time... The title in French is "Quand les loups font leur cinéma". Bye.
In the last work of the famous Italian director Renzo Martinelli it is Rutger Hauer playing Frederick Barbarossa who, whilst working on occupying Milan, takes some time to hunt for wild boars in the forests. Certainly it was the Lali/Lizi tandem that made the stunts and the replicant himself sweat a little...
In Hungary Gabor Csupo’s (the father of the Simpson”s) fantasy called the Secret of Moonacre was opening in November 2009. All animals in the movie were trained and supplied for the production by the HORKAI Animal Training Center.
We worked on this award-winning three chapter natural history movie in 2000 and 2001 high in the Austrian Alps. The pack of wolves in the movie was not even one year old at the time of the shooting and they have lost their alpha male due to an unfortunate accident. The shooting toke place in sometimes extreme circumstances: it was well under -25 degree Celsius and a wind of app. 120 km/h. One of our trainers, Adam shot his famous picture entitled “Wolves in the snowstorm” there. The picture won the incredible 2nd place at the Photo of the year 2002 competition organized by the Hungarian Association of Journalists.
We worked also with foxes in the movie: in the clip you can see the moments after birth, when the mother is taking newborns to her.

The filming of Blood and Chocolate was made with the participation of 21 wolves (3 packs) for more than 40 days: training took more than 2 months.
The main characters in the movie are played by such starts as Olivier Martinez, Agnes Bruckner or Hugh Dancy. All of them had to have a close relationship with the wolves: Hugh Dancy’s leg – that of course was protected against serious bites – was torn by a raging wolf. They were happy to find the time during the training period to play and mingle with the wolves.
However Olivier Martinez’s favorite animal was the 6 month old brown bear that as though was not playing in the movie but was taken to Romania with us for at this age 3 months of work left out in the training period cannot be made up for later.
